Low-Fat Country Sausage Patties

Serve:

8 patties


1 lb ground turkey; beefalo, or
-extra lean be
1/2 c breadcrumbs
2 cl garlic; minced
2 tb fresh parsley; finely
-chopped or
2 ts dried parsley
1 ts thyme
1 ts sage
1/2 ts marjoram
1/2 ts salt
1/4 ts fresh ground pepper
3/4 ts crushed hot red pepper
1 nonstick cooking spray

Combine all ingredients and form into 8 patties. “Fry” in a Teflon pan
coated with nonstick cooking spray until brown and crisp on both sides,
about 20 min. Add a little water during cooking if patties begin to stick.

Variation: Add chopped onions and mushrooms and shape into one meatloaf and
bake.

Per single patty serving using turkey: 7.2 g fat, 2.0 g saturated fat, 35
mg chol., and 221 mg salt.
